Garnering an average score of 100% in both first and second rounds of the actual field validation for the semi-annual Road Condition Monitoring and Evaluation conducted by the Department of Public Works and Highways - Bureau of Maintenance, DPWH- Cotabato 2nd District Engineering Office (DEO) based in Midsayap, Cotabato, is rated as one of the 15 Districts Engineering Offices nationwide with best maintained national roads.
Of the 181 District Engineering Offices surveyed, Cotabato I DEO in Kidapawan City and Sultan Kudarat II DEO in Lebak, Sultan Kudarat also topped the rank by garnering an average of 91.92% and 91.43% respectively.
The semi-annual Road Condition Monitoring and Evaluation assesses DPWH regional offices’ performance of national roads in terms of continuous national roads maintenance service delivery to the public and preservation of government assets.
Maintenance service delivery in terms of infrastructure refers to the rectification or repair of shoved, corrugated, pumped and depressed roads and bridges; low/ inverted shoulders; damaged potholes; clogged drainage and open manhole; faded road markings and signages; and lush vegetation.
Preservation of government assets, on the other hand, refers to the rectification of cracks, major scaling, raveling, inadequate sealant in joints and asphalt overlay.
