The
DPWH website is an on-line information service developed
to increase public awareness of the Department’s role
in nation building. The website features the
Department’s vision-mission, its organization,
functions and responsibilities and updates on reform
programs among others.
In
line with the Department’s reform program of providing
transparency in all its undertakings, the website is
also provided with a page enumerating the procedures for
registration, bidding and award; procurement
advertisement and notices; and bid schedule and results.
Included in this page is the Accounts Payable which is primarily
intended to inform the creditors of DPWH their
respective “priority numbers” in the payment of
their claims.
The
Complaints and Action Center (CAAC) page of the website
is the centerpiece of the Department’s thrust of
reaching out to the public and encouraging interaction
with its stakeholders. The CAAC allows the public
to directly send messages to various offices of the
Department. The messages received are complaints,
queries, requests for assistance, opinions, suggestions,
recommendations, etc., and can be acted upon
expeditiously because of the website.
From
the onset, the CAAC has received voluminous messages
from concerned citizens from all walks of life, from
different areas of the country and even areas outside
the country. These messages have been promptly
responded with the appropriate actions taken by the
Department. Some of the message senders have shown
great appreciation of the Department’s quick and
accommodating responses, by sending commendations and
acknowledgements through the website.
The
DPWH website has transformed into one of the significant
tools in accomplishing the Department’s reform
programs towards a more responsive government agency.
